Tower Cold Chain launches new service centre in South Korea

Stay up to date

Pharmaceutical freight specialist Tower Cold Chain has expanded its global reach and service capabilities in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region with the opening of its latest hub, located in Incheon, South Korea.

Through this expansion, Tower’s Incheon service centre will support an increased import and export shipment volume in the region, ensuring availability and proximity of Tower’s range of robust, reliable, reusable temperature-controlled containers to pharmaceutical businesses, airlines and 3PL providers.

The hub will be located in a large facility, just 8km miles from Incheon International Airport in the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ). This marks Tower’s fifth hub in the APAC region, following an incredible market growth in the life sciences sector.

To cater to the increased need for pharmaceutical shipments, Tower will have dedicated warehousing space which will be used to house Tower containers across all temperature ranges from <-80°C with dry ice to +25°C. The hub will be operated for Tower by GEODIS, further expanding Tower’s relationship with the freight forwarder following existing projects.

Robert Paterson, Tower’s Regional Commercial Manager of Asia Pacific, says, “The expansion of Tower’s hub network into South Korea reinforces our ability to deliver robust, reliable, reusable temperature-controlled containers to meet our customers’ needs. The Incheon hub continues to strengthen our logistics infrastructure to support the growing Korean pharmaceutical market and airline industries.”

The Incheon service centre is part of Tower’s growing global network, with hubs in Chicago and Amsterdam also opening in Q3 2022.
