Customer movements into India effective 1-January-2023
Under the Customs Tariff Act Notification No. 104/94, Customs has regulated that durable/reusable containers (and standard accessories – PCM plates & data loggers) are to be declared when importing into India, unless covered under a separate re-export bond. As of 1-January-2023, forTower Cold Chain to be able to process orders into/out of India for Customs, it is necessary for all customers to provide us with a commercial invoice including shipping/freight details.
Please note that failure to provide this information may result in delays in Customs clearance or/and Customs penalties. If Tower is unable to recover the containers, customers will be charged for the container loss.
- The Tower Customer Service team will complete the commercial invoice (commercial invoice template) template once booking has been placed, with the following details:
- Tower container type and quantity;
- Type of PCM plates used (+17 plates, +4 plates, -21 plates) and quantity;
- Logger number and quantity.
- Tower unit serial number (4-digit);
- Tower Logger number (8-digit);
2. Tower Team will send the prepopulated document to the shipper who will need to confirm shipping details, date and sign.
3. Once shipping/freight details are available, please update mandatory fields in the commercial invoice template (highlighted in yellow), date, sign, and forward the completed CI along with your paperwork to ind-towercoldchain@efl.global.com copying in TOWER_CS@towercoldchain.com prior to returning the containers to Tower facility in India. Do ensure you include both Tower Commercial Invoice and your Commercial Invoice for Customs declaration.
- Customer Commercial Invoice Number and date;
- HAWB/HBL and date;
- MAWB/MBL and date;
- Bill of Entry (BOE) number and date.
Failure to provide this information may lead to delays in Customs clearance or/and Customs penalties. In the event that Tower is unable to recover the containers, customers will be charged for the container loss.
